As I write this blog, I don’t really know what you might be interested in knowing. Thankfully, some of you have had some questions to help direct me. so, here goes.

We have about 650 passengers of which 450 are on the Around the World Cruise. About 60 passengers are on repeat world cruises. About 70 of us are traveling solo most of us are women. Almost all of us are retired and in our 60s and 70s.

I am not a foody. Several of you have asked about the menus and the food generally. I can only tell you that what I have eaten has been delicious with the exception of a quesadilla that was meant to be Hawaiian. I was afraid to ask what was in it. The other passengers who appear much more adventurous and experienced in the eating domain have commented that they have found the food excellent. The entrees highlight the local cuisine when we are approaching or are in port.

I have found that the best approach for meeting people is to join the various activities. As a result, I have found some golfers in our singing group and we hope to play in Papeete. I have also found some gamblers and we are already starting our strategy for Monte Carlo. Never to early to plan to lose money.

I have not had parties in the cabin which I know is surprising but I do have a large bottle of scotch that will need to be emptied by New York so time will tell.
