Routine

Some of you have asked about my days at sea. I have put together something of a routine. I admit to being a creature of habit. Joey knows what that is like.

It starts with breakfast around 8:00 am in the restaurant on the top level in the back of the ship. Bede makes me the perfect omelet (I will miss him when I get home and back to reality). That is followed by beginning bridge with our singing group gathering just before lunch. I try to catch up with the morning lecture which is taped and broadcasted on the televisions in our rooms. Today’s lecture was on sponges. The lectures focus on topics that try to enhance our visit to the next port.

The afternoon starts with social bridge to try to reinforce what was learned in the morning. Our trivia group meets just before afternoon tea and then a change for dinner and possibly an evening show. All of this can and is adjusted as the day progresses.

Last night was an especially good show. The entertainer, Nikki Bennett, recounted the life of Helen Reddy and, of course, sang her popular songs. It was very appropriate in that we will be in Australia in about a week.

As boring as it all sounds, I have been able to meet wonderful people and learn lots of new things. Okay, I have got to bounce.

Cheers and good night Joey.
