Arriving in Wellington

Museum day. The Te Papa Tongarewa Museum.

I experienced the Moari culture in Auckland but was able to gain some more insight in this museum. The a copy of the Treaty of Waitanga was on display that established British involvement in the New Zealand area. The museum had displays of the meeting houses, boats and living quarters.

Sleeping quarters.

The Kiwi bird is highly regarded in New Zealand. They are seldom seen in the wild because of their nocturnal behavior. They have such short wing spans that they are unable to fly. I think they are kind of cute.

The City of Wellington serves as the Capital of New Zealand. With that in mind, it is a large thriving city with all of the stores you would find in the U.S.

We shared a port with a huge Royal Carribean ship. I was told it holds enough room for 6,000 passengers.
