This is a city remaking itself since its designation as a Capital City. It has become a multicultural population that embraces its Malaysian status.

We saw newer buildings.

Then we explored the history of the people with a visit to the Sabah Museum.

Please note the sign showing that this structure held the remaining skulls of people who found themselves on the wrong side of the Borneo headhunters.

Yep. The tribes of Borneo were headhunters that used the practice to demonstrate the virility of their young men. Thankfully, headhunting was outlawed in 1970.
