Tokyo second day

Today’s activity included a trip of about 90 minutes to the city of Kamakura where we were scheduled to visit a Buddhist Temple and a Shinto Shrine.

Some of the history of the Seated Amids Buddha.

Onto the Shinto Shrine.

Entry gate to the shrine area.
Families come to the shrine for a variety of reasons and celebrations.
In preparation for prayer at the shrine, celebrants
come to this area to rinse their hands.
Descending the staircase from the shrine to the center of town. Photos of the shrine are prohibited.
Rickshaws are occasionally seen on the street.
Joining the crowd of shoppers in downtown Kamakura.
Time for a break and this hot wine hit the spot on this cold rainy day. The drink starts with honey that lines the bottom of the glass. Hot wine is added and served with a slice of lemon.

Tokyo cannot be appreciated in two days. It was a great stop.

Cheers and good night Joey.
