Colombo, Sri Lanka

I took a tour of the city that stopped at the Colombo National museum and the Gangaramaya Temple. Colombo is not the government capital for the country but serves as the commercial center.

The entry into one of several mosques in the city.
A downtown clock tower that was originally a lighthouse.

Finally, the Gangaramaya Temple. It is very ornate and within its center is a tree that is believed to have been started from a sampling from the tree that Siddhartha Gautama sat beneath as he gained his insight.

Sri Lanka is a lush and beautiful destination. Most people speak English and will accept US dollars which is very helpful.

Cheers and good night Joey.
