Livingstone, second day

Nothing like a waterfall to get your attention. Especially if it is Victoria Falls. So some of us decided to do a helicopter ride before we did the walking tour. We flew around the gorge that has been created by the water flow of the Zambezi River.

Take off
Going through the gorge
Above the river expansion before the falls
Tribal town nearby.
Lonely elephant
Impalas followed by zebras
And the Victoria Falls
Above view of the rainbow

We got off the helicopter and started an hour walk around the falls.

A perpetual rainbow as long as the water is flowing.
The falls were magnificent.

We then returned to the lodge and took a boat to an island in the middle of the river to have lunch.

On our way back we saw Charlie the hippo.

After lunch we headed for the jeeps for an afternoon safari.

Elephant tracks
Rino tracks
Giraffes
Rinos
More impalas as it is getting later in the day.
A cocktail overlooking the river to end the day.

Cheers and good night Joey.
